Wear Your Brand like a Badge of Honour
Sep 27, 2022Take a walk down the street, turn on your device or even take a stroll on a beach and you will be bombarded by brands. Modern society is obsessed with brands, let’s face facts we live in a brand conscious world, where you are judged by what brand you wear, what brand you drive, to even what brand you push your toddler in. Corporations and companies around the globe spend tens of millions if not hundreds of millions in dollars, rands, yen, sterling on branding every year. It quite simply is the difference between success and failure.
So, may I ask you a question?
Why are you not branding yourself? Yes, you. You may answer me, why should I? My company builds the C21 brand, and what can little old me do to brand myself.
Well, it's time you realised that we live in a fast forward world, where perception is reality. Your brand is the most important tool you have in your job. Even more so now that people are moving to doing business with specific people within an organisation because of what? Their branding!
So, let's suit up and wear our brand every day. Please do not take me figuratively, I don’t care if you wear a safari suit, designer heels or flip flops, as your brand must reflect who you are as a person and what you stand for. It is your badge of honour and should be displayed in everything you do. My message today is don’t build your brand but start to wear it, so it becomes part of you and eventually is you.
Let’s break it down, so what does it mean to wear it? It is the way you behave, carry yourself and portray yourself, its your brand message all in one. If someone mentions you by name, the picture that comes into their mind is your brand message.
So where do I brand? Everywhere and everywhere.
Did I mention that we live in a digital world, branding has never been easier, getting your message out can be achieved by a simple click of button. A word of caution, you must keep clicking that button on a regular basis to keep your brand front and centre, and remember you must continuously reinvent your brand, but the core message should always hold true.
Shake off the cobwebs and bury the fear and start to develop that unique brand that is you, make sure it represents who you are and what you stand for as you will be wearing it forever.
Good luck and have fun.
